Sawyer Macres is an award-winning writer and director whose work explores the complexities of human connection. Blending emotional depth with humor, his films often center on themes of love, sacrifice, and loneliness, embracing the strangeness and beauty of everyday life.

His debut short film, Her Mother’s Eyes (2023), was named a semi-finalist at The Bay International Film Festival, where acclaimed producer Jan Harlan (The Shining) attended as a guest of honor. Sawyer’s latest film, Mannequined (2025), is screening at Wake Festival in Northern Ireland organized by Peter Rollins.

In addition to his narrative films, Sawyer has built a strong portfolio as a director, producer, videographer, and all-hands-on-deck multimedia creative for his client work. His projects have collectively garnered millions of views on YouTube and other platforms, reflecting his ability to connect with wide audiences.

Across both independent and commercial work, Sawyer Macres continues to craft stories that are intimate, offbeat, and deeply human.

His first feature, “Take Me to Ithaca,” will begin filming in 2026.
